HomeSchool Quranic Study Method
by Umm Sulaimaan
Overview
A. read the surah all the way through writing down titles for each paragraph.
This reveals the general thought development of the book. The titles should
meet the following requirements:
1.Predict: Ask yourself or your child after reading
the title what they think this surah is about.
2.Perceive: Read the story once thru and see if
you get the total picture. Ask your self after contemplating if you
understand.
3.Decide how you will determine where the paragraph divisions
belong. If studying with a study group, it is probably best
to stay with first talking to the youngest
or least prepared of the group to see if they need a little coaching.
B. Compile all the references ie Hadith, Tafseer and Books from "Sound"
sources. This is usually done by drawing three columns on a sheet of paper--
one for the surah, one for the hadith, and one for others. The data should
be referenced with the chapter and verse, and marked with an asterisk.
C. Summarize or Narrate if your audience is young or have the older
ones in group narrate what they have just read..
